This Wednesday’s football game is at 5:15. This means students cannot stay after school on Wednesday. If they are attending the game, they must go home and come back at 5:15. Thank you!

Good Evening Warriors! This is Kristan Gallimore with your weekly message. This week is a busy one with NC Check Ins in Reading and Math, athletic pictures, Freaky Friday and so much more! Students will be taking the Reading Check In on Thursday and the Math Check In on Friday. The 8th grade Science Check In will be at a later date. Please encourage your student to put forth their very best effort on this assessment. It is a great opportunity for us to identify areas that need more instructional guidance as we prepare our students for EOGs. This Friday, September 27th is Freaky Friday from 3:15-5:30. The cost is $10 per student and that includes a slice of pizza and a drink. Concessions will be sold at an additional cost. We will have games, volleyball, basketball, dancing and much more! As a reminder, students who have received ISS or OSS since August 30th are not eligible to attend. We as a staff have noticed a few student concerns that we request your help with at home. Numerous students are leaving class each day to make phone calls. Help us limit this by encouraging students to save phone calls for after school. If something does arise, phone calls can be made at lunch. Being a student is a fulltime job and we want them to fully immerse themselves in their classes to make the most of their educational experience. We thank you for helping to support us in this effort. I hope that each of you had a wonderful weekend. Thank you so very much for supporting this fantastic school community. Always remember, GO WARRIORS!!

Stokes County Schools will be on a 2-hour delay tomorrow morning (9/18) for all students and staff. Students may be dropped off as early as 9:30. Thank you!

Good Evening Warriors! This is Kristan Gallimore with your weekly message. This week is our first Spirit Week of the school year and I hope we have lots of student participation. Monday is Pajama Day. Tuesday is Dress like a Teacher, Dress like a Student. Wednesday is Warrior Pride Day, do not forget to wear your green and gold. Thursday is USA Day and Friday is Sports Team Day. Please make sure all clothing items are school appropriate. Monday is our NJHS inductions. Congratulations to these deserving students. Progress Reports for Q1 go home on Tuesday. Please message teachers in regards to any student concerns. Friday is our 8th grade field trip. Please see an 8th grade teacher if you have any questions about Friday. Looking ahead, our fall athletic pictures are Monday, September 23rd and the September Freaky Friday event is Friday, September 27th. We are adding board games along with basketball, volleyball, dancing and concessions. If you have not turned in money for the candy bar sales, please do so this week. We need to get a count of how many students earned prizes so that may be scheduled for October. As always, thank you for supporting our school. I am honored to serve the Southeastern community and all of the families in it. Have a terrific Sunday evening and GO WARRIORS!!

Good Evening Warriors! This is Kristan Gallimore with your weekly message. This Friday is South District Spirit Night at the South Stokes football game. All students will get in free with a paying adult. Make plans to attend as our students will be recognized at halftime. Students are encouraged to wear their Future Saura t-shirts (which they will receive this week). Our 8th grade band will be playing on Friday night with the Saura Marching Band. Kickoff is at 7:30. It is hard to believe that Q1 progress reports are just around the corner. They go home on September 17th and this is a wonderful time to check in with teachers about grades, attendance, missing assignments and more. If you have not already done so, give us a like on Facebook at Southeastern Stokes Middle School-Official. I post pictures and information daily. This is a great way to stay connected and take a peek into our classrooms each day. If you would like to sell a box of chocolate, our deadline is quickly approaching. Snag another box tomorrow to earn prizes and raise money for our school. Yearbooks are already on sale. You can purchase a yearbook using the QR code posted on Facebook. There is also a QR code for 8th grade recognition ads. Grab a yearbook now and save money in the process! I hope that you all had an amazing weekend. I am so appreciative of the support. Have a terrific Sunday evening and GO WARRIORS!!

Good Evening Warriors! This is Kristan Gallimore with your weekly message. Mr. Jones and I would like to thank everyone who participated in Freaky Friday this week. We had a great time and cannot wait for our next one on Friday, September 27th. As a reminder, students who receive ISS or OSS will not be able to participate in Septembers Freaky Friday. This expectation will start over each month so everyone has an opportunity for a fresh start each time. Parents and guardians, we have several people creating a second drop-off line in our front parking lot each morning. We ask that you do not do this as it causes our students to walk across traffic and creates an additional back-up in the parking lot at drop-off. To help us speed up morning arrival, students should be getting out of the vehicle as soon as they are at the sidewalk. This will allow 5 or 6 vehicles to unload at a time and speed up the process. We have several students who are waiting until they are the first one in line and this is slowing us down tremendously. If everyone works together, we can shorten our line and prevent traffic jams each morning. Looking ahead, progress reports for Q1 go home with students on Tuesday, September 17th. This is a great time to reach out to teachers if you have any questions or concerns. Our candy bar sales are still going strong but we still have about 70 boxes of chocolate available for pick-up. Help us raise funds and earn rewards for your child at the same time. I have placed 10 golden tickets in the last 70 boxes. If your child finds a golden ticket, turn it in to me for a gift card or athletic pass to five home games this season! Thank you so much for supporting our school and believing in our students and staff. Have a great evening and a wonderful Monday. I cannot wait to see everyone on Tuesday morning. GO WARRIORS!!

Good Evening Warriors! This is Kristan Gallimore with your weekly message. This week brings so many opportunities for students to get involved at Southeastern. Warrior Strength begins this Tuesday, August 27th for 7th and 8th grade students. It is $20 to join this club and students will receive a t-shirt. Contact Coach Haynes if you have questions. We will be holding an interest meeting on Thursday, August 29th at 7:45 in Mrs. Tuttles room for all students who would like to learn more about the Crochet Club. Be sure to pop in if you are interested. Our first Freaky Friday of the year is this Friday, August 30th. Students may pay $10 to stay until 5:30 for this event. All students will receive pizza and a drink. We will have games (basketball and volleyball), board games, prizes and more. Concessions will be on sale for an additional cost. Be sure to see Ms. Hurlocker in the big gym this week to purchase your ticket. Our candy bar sales are in full swing and we have decided to extend the prize deadline until Wednesday, September 11th to allow for more students to earn the game truck, UrbanAir and more. The money raised with our candy bar sale directly impacts student instruction and is also used to support staff in the classrooms. I hope you will participate! 6th grade band students will have the opportunity to meet with Mr. Carter and rent band instruments tomorrow night from 5:00-7:00 in the band room. See Mr. Carter for additional details. The NJHS will be sponsoring a Kona Ice treat on Friday afternoon. Students may purchase a shaved ice Friday from 1:00-3:00 if they would like to participate. As you can see, we have a lot happening this week at Southeastern! I hope students can find something they want to get involved in this year and this week is a great time to start. Have a wonderful evening! GO WARRIORS!!

Good Evening Warriors! This is Kristan Gallimore with your weekly message. Mr. Jones and I want to thank each of you for a terrific start to the school year. We enjoyed meeting so many students, visiting classrooms and connecting with our school community. We have a lot of back to school reminders to share this week so please reach out if you have questions. Please encourage students to get out of the car in the mornings as soon as they are at the sidewalk. This will speed up our car rider line. If you have not already done so, pay the technology fee (Chromebook fee) this week so that we can send devices home with students. We understand that it can be cold in our buildings at times but we have asked students to leave blankets at home. Students should dress appropriately with hoodies, jackets, or long pants if they are cold. Mr. Jones and I discussed dress code with students this week. Students should refrain from wearing any inappropriate or offensive clothing/hats. Shorts must be an appropriate length with full coverage and tops should cover body parts appropriately. Hats are allowed at school (no hooks on hats). If you have specific questions/concerns, let us know. Students may have their cell phones out during lunch but should not be on their cell phones during instructional time unless they are using them in class. Students have done a wonderful job with meeting these expectations this week but we also wanted to share them with you all. We are thankful for respectful students and a great start. There is a parent meeting tomorrow night at 5:30 for our fall athletics. Please plan to attend. Our candy bar fundraiser kicked off this week. We have a lot of prizes including Chill and Chat, a game truck, a field trip to UrbanAir and more. Contact the school office if you would like to participate! These funds directly impact student learning. I hope that you all had a wonderful weekend. Rest up because we have five full student days ahead of us. Thank you for supporting Southeastern and GO WARRIORS!

Good Evening Warriors! This is Kristan Gallimore with your weekly message. We are looking forward to seeing you at tomorrow’s Open House from 5:00-6:00. You will be able to pick up your child’s schedule, visit with elective teachers, pay fees, receive information on bus routes and get started on your candy bar sales for our fall fundraiser! Be sure to pop into the cafeteria for your principal meet-n-greet with Mr. Jones and myself too! School starts on Wednesday and we are thrilled to see all of you! Students may be dropped off as early as 7:30 with the tardy bell ringing at 8:20. We dismiss each day at 3:10. If your child is a bus rider, please be at the stop five minutes before the pick-up time. You can expect bus routes to be delayed for the first several days of school as students are added or removed from routes but Mr. Jones and our drivers are working diligently to update the routes as quickly as possible. If you have specific bus related questions, please contact Mr. Jones during school hours. Sports tryouts and practices kick off this week. If your child is playing a fall sport, physicals must be up to date and all information must be entered into Dragonfly. If you have specific questions about sports, please contact your child’s coach or our athletic director, Ms. Hurlocker. I hope that everyone enjoys the last two days of summer. We cannot wait to welcome our students back on campus this Wednesday! Have a terrific evening and GO WARRIORS!

SSMS is offering another Open House session on Monday, August 12th from 5:00-6:00 due to yesterday’s weather. Our PowerSchool team has made a lot of progress on student schedules this week. They are continuing to balance class sizes and are double checking student placements. I will send a message out once they have been released in PowerSchool to families. We will have paper copies available for pick up at that point as well. Thank you so much for your patience! It’s going to be an exciting school year!

Good Evening Warriors! This is Kristan Gallimore with your weekly message. Open House week is finally here and we cannot wait to see you all on Wednesday or Thursday. Do not forget that Wednesday is from 5:00 to 6:30 and Thursday’s times are 11:00 to 12:30 and 5:00 to 6:30. We will have schedules available for pick up and a checklist for families to make sure you have visited everyone and gathered all of the appropriate back to school information including supply lists, bus information, athletics and more. Our fundraiser rep will be available in the cafeteria on Wednesday during Open House and Thursday morning if you want to get a jump on your chocolate sales. The official fundraiser kick off is August 15th but you can start signing out chocolate as early as this Wednesday to earn prizes and support our school. This fundraiser goes towards our general fund which directly impacts our students and staff. We have made a lot of scheduling changes in order to increase time in our academic classes. With these changes still in the works, we have decided to hold chromebooks until the first student day. You are welcome to pay the fee at Open House but students will not receive their chromebooks until school officially starts. This allows us more time to make sure students are placed in the appropriate homerooms. I cannot wait to meet you all this week! Have a great evening! GO WARRIORS!

An opportunity for our students!
