
Good Evening Warriors! This is Kristan Gallimore with your first weekly message of 2025. I hope that everyone had a happy and healthy holiday season with plenty of rest and relaxation. This week is a short week as we are out of school tomorrow for winter weather. Please be safe on the roads if you must travel. We hope that students are able to return on Tuesday, January 7th. Please help us in reminding students of our cell phone policy at school as the expectation is to refrain from cell phone use except during class change and at lunch. Report cards will go home with students on Monday, January 13th for Q2. Please reach out to teachers if you have questions about your child's report card. Our second Check-In window of the school year also opens on January 13th. Check-Ins are a great opportunity to access students and their understanding of the content at this point in the school year. Please encourage your child to do their very best on the Check-Ins. Our next Freaky Friday is on Friday, January 17th for students who have not received ISS or OSS from December 13th to January 17th. We hope that you will join us on Friday, January 17th for an afternoon of fun. I hope that everyone had a wonderful weekend and you are enjoying the beautiful snow. Good Evening Warriors! This is Kristan Gallimore with your weekly message. It is hard to believe that we have made it to the last school week of 2024 and the last week of our fall semester as well as Q2. Even though we only have 5 student days until a long break, we still have a busy week ahead of us. Join us in participating in our holiday spirit days this week! Details have been shared with students and are posted on our Facebook page. We will be celebrating students who made growth on their iReady diagnostics this week with ice cream and free time. Thank you for putting forth your best effort. Tuesday is the Warrior Band's Christmas concert. Join us at 7:00 in the gym for Sounds of the Season. This Friday is an early dismissal day. Students should be picked up at 12:10. Christmas break begins on Friday afternoon and students return on Monday, January 6th. Car riders, please remember to use the line appropriately. Students should not be picked up in the parking lot. This can be a safety hazard. I also encourage students to get out of the cars once they are at the sidewalk when it is not raining. This will speed up our line and allow people to get into the buildings faster. Families, Mr. Jones and I want to thank each of you for a wonderful fall semester. This will be our last weekly message until Sunday, January 5th so we hope that you enjoy this holiday season with your families and friends, We wish you all a very Merry Christmas and the happiest of New Years! Good Evening Warriors! This is Kristan Gallimore with your weekly message. This week we will wrap up iReady diagnostic testing for the middle of the year. The honor band concert will be on Tuesday evening at 6:30 at West Stokes. Congratulations to our students who earned honor band status. Our school Spelling Bee will be this Friday. Friday is also December's Freaky Friday. Students who had ISS or OSS from November 1st to December 13th are not eligible to attend this Friday's event. Please remember that pick up is at 5:30. Our Christmas concert is Tuesday, December 17th at 7:00 in the gym. I hope you will consider joining us for sounds of the season presented by Mr. Carter and our students. The end of Q2 is Friday, December 20th. Students should reach out to teachers if they have any missing assignments between now and then. Friday, December 20th is also an early release day with dismissal at 12:10. Christmas Break is Saturday, December 21st to Sunday, January 5th with students returning on Monday, January 6th. Mr. Jones and I want to thank each of you for the continued support this school year. We are incredibly honored to serve this school and our community. Good Evening Warriors! This is Kristan Gallimore with your weekly message. I hope that each of you had a wonderful Thanksgiving break and you all are ready to jump into another great week at school. This week brings our MOY iReady assessments in reading and math Students who reach 1/2 of their yearly growth will receive ice cream during our growth celebration before Christmas. Students who reach their full annual growth or stretch growth will also receive a chill and chat reward in the media center. Show us what you have already learned this year by putting forth your very best effort. Let's celebrate academic growth together. Our 7th grade students will participate in mass vision screenings on Wednesday unless a parent or guardian has completed the opt-out form. See our school nurse for questions or concerns. Cookie dough orders should be in this week for people who purchased from the band fundraiser. See Mr. Carter if you have any questions. Rest up Warriors, we have a busy week ahead of us! Good Evening Warriors! This is Kristan Gallimore with your weekly message. This week is a short one with no school on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday for Thanksgiving Break. Our MOY iReady diagnostic window opens on Monday, December 2nd. This is an important assessment opportunity to allow us to see where your students are growing in reading and math as well as what areas we need to provide additional instruction. 7th graders will be participating in vision screenings on Wednesday, December 4th. If you do not want your child to participate, please complete the opt-out form or contact our school nurse. Our next Freaky Friday is December 13th for students who qualify. Good Evening Warriors! This is Kristan Gallimore with your weekly message. This week is Spirit Week at SSMS. Tomorrow is Neon Day and Tuesday is Twin Day. Show off your Warrior Pride on Wednesday by wearing green and gold. Thursday is Theme Day and Friday is Camo Day. Progress reports for Q2 go home this Tuesday, November 19th. If you do not receive a progress report and need an update on your child's grades, behavior or attendance, please contact teachers. If you need access to PowerSchool, contact Mrs. Handy in the office. Winter athletic pictures are also on Tuesday. You can print a picture form from Facebook or pick up a copy in the office. See your coach or Ms. Hurlocker if you have questions. Please be mindful of where you are parking during basketball games. Do not block our bus parking or areas behind the buildings. We have cars and buses that must be able to get in and out even during the basketball games. We will be checking our parking lots throughout the games to make sure no one is parked in a place that interferes with our yellow buses or activity buses. Looking ahead, Thanksgiving break is Wednesday, November 27th through Sunday, December 1st. The MOY iReady diagnostic window opens on Monday, December 2nd. Good Evening Warriors! This is Kristan Gallimore with your weekly message. This week is a short one as tomorrow is Veteran's Day. Please join me in thanking the men and women of our Armed Forces for their service to our nation. Tuesday is picture make-ups and retakes. Be sure to remind your child to have their picture made on Tuesday, if needed. Attendance is vital to student success and it takes a collaborative effort between families and our school to make this happen. Please make sure your child arrives to school on time each day. We are experiencing a lot of early dismissals this fall. Students should not be checked out early unless they are sick or have an appointment. Good attendance makes outstanding students and we need our students with us each day from the start at 8:20 to the dismissal at 3:10. If your child is absent, be sure to send in a note with their first and last name, the date of the absence as well as the reason. I hope that everyone had a wonderful weekend. Students, enjoy your Monday off of school and come back on Tuesday ready to work hard and learn. We are thankful for our time with each of you. Thank you for the support. GO WARRIORS!!

Good Evening Warriors! This is Kristan Gallimore with your weekly message. Our first Warriors Lead the Way meeting is tomorrow, November 4th at 7:30 in the health room. This is our recently created kindness club, be sure to check it out. There will be no school on Tuesday, November 5th as Southeastern is a polling site for the election. Wednesday, November 6th is our parents' meeting for winter sports at 5:30 in the main gym. This meeting is mandatory if you have a child playing a winter sport. There will be no school on Monday, November 11th as we honor the men and women who have served or are serving in our Armed Forces. Picture make-ups will be on Tuesday, November 12th. Q2 progress reports will be available on Tuesday, November 19th. It is hard to believe that we are halfway into the second quarter. Be sure to log into PowerSchool to check your child's grades and attendance. Contact Mrs. Handy about attendance and classroom teachers concerning grades and assignments. Good Evening Warriors! This is Kristan Gallimore with your weekly message. Southeastern will be hosting a blood drive in partnership with the American Red Cross on Tuesday from 2:00 until 6:30. Help us reach our goal of 30 units of blood. Tuesday is also our Halloween band concert. Support our 8th graders as they play at SSHS at 7:00 in the auditorium. AIG Parent Night is on October 30th at 5:30. Halloween at Southeastern is on Thursday, October 31st. Students may dress up. Please make sure they avoid full face masks, violent or gory costumes, fake blood, fake weapons or inappropriate attire. Be sure to assist us in making sure all clothing items are school appropriate. Our next Freaky Friday is Friday November 1st. Students who do not receive ISS or OSS from Monday, October 21st to Friday, November 1st will be eligible to attend. November 1st is also our UrbanAir fundraiser field trip for students who sold several boxes of chocolate. As always, I hope that you all had a happy and restful weekend. Good Evening Warriors! This is Kristan Gallimore with your weekly message. This week brings another opportunity for family conferences. Schedule a meeting with teachers now if you have concerns about grades, attendance, participation, behavior or engagement. This Wednesday is Unity Day. Unity Day is a great way to remind ourselves of the importance of community and acceptance. Lets all come together against unkindness and bullying by wearing orange on Wednesday for Unity Day. This Friday we will host a Halloween themed Freaky Friday with a haunted hall, pizza, games and more. Join us for a fun afternoon. Parents, it is important to remember that students must be picked up at 5:30 on Freaky Fridays and students who have had a full day or more of ISS or OSS from October 7th through October 18th are not eligible to attend. Report cards for Q1 go home on October 21st. Our 8th grade band students will be performing at SSHS on October 22nd for a Hallween concert and our blood drive is also on the 22nd. Remember that if we get 30 units of blood donated, we will receive $10 per unit. 8th grade yearbook ads are due on October 25th. Our AIG Parent Night is scheduled for Wednesday, October 30th. Halloween at SSMS is Thursday, the 31st. Please make sure students are not wearing anything violent or gory. Do not use fake blood, weapons or full face masks. Thursday is the end of Q1 and our first candy bar fundraiser reward with Chill and Chat. Be sure to turn in candy bar money to receive this reward. Our Cookie Dough fundraiser for band kicks off this week and tomorrow is a NJHS parent meeting. Please see the appropriate staff members if you have any questions about these two events. If your family needs food assistance, reach out to Mrs. Jackson. She will be happy to assist you. Parents and guardians, if your child is out sick be sure to include the students first and last name on the excuse note as well as the dates absent. Family conferences start tomorrow. Reach out to classroom teachers if you would like to schedule a meeting. Q1 report cards go home on Monday, October 21st. Southeastern will be partnering with the American Red Cross for a blood drive on Tuesday, October 22nd from 2:00-6:30 in the school cafeteria. We also have a lot of sporting events this week so be sure to join us and show off your Warrior Pride. Looking ahead, the end of Q1 is Thursday, October 10th. This means that all assignments, test corrections, projects and classwork must be submitted by October 10th. Reach out to classroom teachers if you have questions about this. Friday, October 11th is a teacher workday and no school for students. The fall conference window opens on Monday, October 7th. Schedule a conference with classroom teachers if you have specfic questions/concerns about grades, attendance or behavior. Our first fundraiser prize for students who sold one box of chocolate will be Thursday, October 10th. This will be 45 minutes of Chill and Chat as a thank you for raising money for our school.
