Local Academically or Intellectually Gifted (AIG) Plan

The Stokes County School System's gifted program serves students at all three levels (elementary, middle, and high school).

At the elementary level, students in kindergarten through third grade can receive differentiation within the regular class. Formal identification begins during the second semester of third grade. Fourth and fifth graders identified as gifted in communication skills and math receive services through a resource setting.

The middle school offers separate classes for communication skills and math.

High school gifted students are offered Honors and Advanced Placement courses in several academic areas.
